We are a family of five from New Zealand, currently travelling in South East Asia (Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar).
Our Travel Blog, begun in 2016, reflects a long-held love for travel. Back in 2016, I was still working as a lawyer and travel was very much a part-time pursuit. Time has moved on quickly since though! In late 2016, I quit law. Despite 9 successful years as a barrister, I finally worked out that high workloads and a heavy dose of daily anxiety, did not equal a meaningful life!
Over time, a plan came together, which centred around ridding ourselves of a good portion of our possessions; building a small house on a trailer (our tiny-house!); and then using this as a base from which to further our travels. Our blog, Lawyer Turned Gypsy, is all about our journey down that path, beginning in 2018, when we sold up much of our stuff and became full-time travellers: nomads of sorts.
Our Four Corners Travel Blog continues to tell the stories of our travels and offers a little advice and inspo for other travellers too. Some of our most recent adventures have included Egypt, Morocco, Spain, Eastern Europe and New Zealand. We are currently in South East Asia.
Our Foodie & Wino blog (another great love!) and a connected blog on Farmers Markets & Vege Gardens documents these favourites as we travel too.
Generally we travel at the budget to mid-level end, with an occasional bit of luxury travel allowed to creep in. We are also a huge fan of the Lonely Planet guides: our primary source when travelling independently (also our modus operandi most of the time!).
