VIENNA MUST SEE SIGHTS
Excerpt from the blog: Vienna is one seriously beautiful city. The central city is one block after another of graceful, elegant buildings, rich in history and culture. There are palaces to explore, museums galore, beautiful parks and music, wine bars and restaurants, entrancing stories of past lives and history, and a never ending series of places to see and go. I was struck by how much there was and feel like I need to make another trip to fully take it all in, never mind seeing all the bits I missed! ... The Schoenbrunn is a 1,441-room baroque palace, once occupied by the ruling Hapsburg Emperors and their families. Magnificent opulence about describes it. Many of its beautifully decadent rooms are open to the public, almost all of which are framed in gold. The story of Elizabeth of Bavaria and her marriage to the Austrian emperor plays a key part in the audio tour and provides some fascinating imagery of the lives led by the Hapsburgs... The Hofburg imperial palace is really a large collection of buildings - almost a small city - with amazing architecture. I was a little confused when I got dropped off by an Uber at the "Hofburg". It took some time to realise that the Hofburg meant buildings to the left, right, across the road, and around the corner too. They are magnificent and huge.
