THE 8 MUST SEE SIGHTS IN ROME, ITALY
Rome is a city to spend time in: to eat and drink and learn the language. To soak in her ancient culture and search out the fabulous clues of her grand past. It is vast. Ancient. Decadent. Marvellous. Do wander the streets of Trastevere and devour the wonderful Italian food and wine in her many squares. You can spend days wandering the Vatican: which can invoke both intense admiration for her amazing art and horror for the centuries of wealth (and thievery) that created such decadence. Climb St Peter's Basillica to see down over the city from the original heart of European christianity and picture what the city would have looked like in earlier times. Roam the Roman forum for a close up look over some actual ruins of her past. My pictures of Rome do not do this beautiful city justice. Perhaps it is that they are a few years old (most are from 2011 and I was still learning to take photographs), but then Rome cannot be truly encapsulated either. A lengthy visit is essential!
